A Message to the Voters of Lincoln County

Recently, I was asked by Marc Walker to serve as the Campaign Manager for his efforts to become the next Sheriff of Lincoln County.  Though I have never been involved in politics other than voting, I was very excited at the prospect of assisting my friend in his endeavor to restore the public trust in the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office.

I have known Marc Walker for several years through our service together on the East Lincoln Fire Department Board of Directors, and I have always been impressed with his management style and effectiveness in working with people from a varied set of backgrounds to accomplish our goals. I have witnessed firsthand the integrity he possesses, his common sense approach to problems and challenges, and the leadership he portrays.

Marc’s leadership qualities are nothing new. As a graduate of Gardner Webb University, Marc was elected Captain of the football team where he was a starting wide receiver each of his four years in college.       

His abilities as a State Trooper are admirable as well. I, like you, prefer to keep my interaction with the Highway Patrol to a minimum, but it is comforting to know that the organization has a man like Marc Walker carrying out their daily duties of keeping the public safe on our highways.

The Highway Patrol is one of the most respected and well-trained law enforcement agencies in the country, and Marc has served in that organization for over 27 years with 15 of those years being in Lincoln County. His tenure is unblemished, and the respect he has among his fellow officers across our area and the state is something to be admired. In addition to being a Founding Member of the North Carolina Highway Patrol Interstate Drug Interdiction Team and having earned an Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate, Marc has over 3000 hours of extensive training that includes:

• Narcotics & Dangerous Drug Enforcement
• Motor Vehicle Law Enforcement
• Clandestine Drug Lab Training (Meth Lab)
• Domestic Intervention & Terrorism
• Constitutional Law

As we look to the future of our county, we all need a professional and effective law enforcement agency to protect our families, homes and businesses. I know that Marc Walker is the right person to execute that duty to the public and will surround himself with only the best law enforcement professionals available. I also know that under Marc’s leadership, the citizens of Lincoln County and the men and women who put their lives on the line everyday in order to protect us will be proud of the Sheriff’s Department.

As a father of two children and as a husband, it will be comforting to know that our Sheriff’s Department is under the leadership of such a capable professional. We deserve a Sheriff with a clean record that will not be afraid to make the right decisions for Lincoln County. 

I hope that you will continue to support Marc in his campaign and will volunteer your time and resources to help make his election possible. I know that we will all win on May 4th if the voters choose Marc Walker as the Republican nominee.
