LINCOLN COUNTY - Marc Walker, a Republican candidate for Sheriff of Lincoln County, announced on Friday that his campaign is the first to go on local cable television with a campaign commercial.

The commercial will begin airing on Charter Cable on Sunday, April 25th, 2010 on Fox News Channel.

The selection of exclusively advertising on Fox News was a strategic decision made by Walker and his campaign.

"We know Fox News reaches many Republican Primary voters. As a fiscal conservative, we thought there would be no better place for our voters to hear our message," Walker said in a news release.

The commercial also gives voters an opportunity to see and hear Walker if they have never met him in person.

"We are knocking on a lot of doors and attending as many functions as possible but it is almost impossible to meet each and every person who will go vote. We have had an effective outreach effort through other media sources including 'new' media like Facebook and Twitter. This is just another way to demonstrate to voters that when elected Sheriff; we will always be proactive in reaching out and informing citizens. People need to know who they are voting for this election."
